The ILK’s main division, Refrigeration and Heat Pump Technology, conducts research and development for industry and end-users on energy-efficient and innovative processes and equipment for refrigeration across a wide temperature range, from deep-freezing to air conditioning and heat pump technology.
Technologies for refrigeration applications in the food supply chain, cold storage, and refrigerated transport are also the focus of this work.
Refrigeration and Heat Pump Technology
• Calculation and development of compression refrigeration machines and heat pumps
• Investigation and testing of refrigeration components, particularly refrigerant compressors and mass and heat exchangers
• Investigation and testing of refrigeration equipment and systems, particularly household refrigeration appliances and heat pumps
• Development of material data software for refrigerants and heat transfer fluids
• Development and manufacture of refrigeration test systems
