On July 9, 2021, the ILK will digitally open its doors and participate in the Long Night of Science in Dresden for the first time. Interested citizens can get to know the ILK virtually and learn about the topics we are researching.
In the past months, the ILK Dresden has made many contributions to overcoming corona-related limitations. Among other things, our research on reducing viral loads in rooms has led to a better basis for decision-making by politicians when reopening cultural institutions and schools. In this current context, a podcast contribution is dedicated to the topic: "How dangerous are aerosols?". Another podcast from the series "Science explained in practice" provides insights into our materials sciences.
In our film contributions, we show how the heat transition can succeed and how clean energy can be obtained from surface waters, but also what drives the ILK researchers on the subject of hydrogen as a contribution to a CO2-neutral industrial policy. All digital formats of the ILK can be found here on July 9, 2021:

The Institute of Air Handling and Refrigeration has been researching and developing at the scientific location of Dresden for almost 60 years. We see ourselves as a link between industry and university or basic research. 150 employees develop ready-to-use and individual solutions in the field of cryogenics, refrigeration and air conditioning, air pollution control, materials testing and energy infrastructures.
