Task

In addition to its own cost calculations, ILK Dresden uses a formula derived from the literature to estimate the costs of refrigeration systems. This formula can also be used to a limited extent for heat pumps. However, it reaches its limits, particularly in industrial applications. The aim of this thesis is to further develop this function. To this end, new approaches will be developed and investigated. In addition, current market prices will be researched to adjust and validate the function. Subsequently, this function will be integrated into a tool for estimating total costs. This tool will be created in Excel and will include not only system costs but also costs for piping, electrical and control systems, as well as ancillary construction costs.

The main division of refrigeration and heat pump technology at ILK Dresden focuses on cold vapor processes. To this end, individual components (compressors, heat exchangers, valves) are measured and further developed. In addition, processes and system configurations are also investigated. The results are intended to help cooperating industrial companies improve their products. These projects can be supported as part of student work. The topics presented below only provide a rough outline of the tasks. Depending on the type of student work (internship, coursework, thesis, etc.), the assignment will be individually tailored and adapted.
