Services for biomass boilers includes investigations and measurements for efficiency, seasonal efficiency, emission levels, and safety-related response (type-testing). These measurements can be done at the ILK Dresden test facility or on-site at the manufacturer's premises.

Manufacturers of biomass boilers must ensure the performance of their products through technical data and comply with the requirements of the 1. BImSchV; in many cases, they also seek to qualify for additional funding from the BAFA. The scope of services offered therefore encompasses measurements and analyses of boilers during the development phase, as well as their technical evaluation for acceptance within the scope of a type test. These results serve, among other purposes, as documentation for submission to the BAFA, and as a basis for technical specifications in sales literature and CE declarations. In this context, the ILK Dresden’s accreditation in accordance with DIN EN 303-5:2023 guarantees test results that are both compliant with standards and fully traceable.

To address this range of tasks, newest equipment—including an FTIR spectrometer, portable gas analyzers, and particle measurement technology for various size ranges—as well as highly qualified personnel are available. Furthermore, the mobility of our measurement equipment allows us to carry out tests directly at the manufacturer's premises. Thanks to the ILK Dresden’s notification as a designated testing body pursuant to §29b of the BImSchG, we are also able to offer measurement services for the one-year measurement program stipulated in §3, Paragraph (5) of the 1. BImSchV. In addition to boilers, wood-burning stoves can also be tested at the ILK Dresden’s testing facility, e.g. for preparing testing by a notified body in accordance with the Construction Products Regulation.
