Component damage not only causes downtime but can also result in significant costs. A comprehensive failure analysis therefore not only identifies the reason for the current failure but also provides the basis for preventing future failures.
Description
ILK Dresden carries out comprehensive, interdisciplinary failure analyses. Our laboratories and in-house workshop enable us to examine damaged components as well as analyse working fluids such as water, heat transfer fluids, oils, and refrigerants. This allows us to provide a holistic assessment and and, together with our clients, develop solutions to prevent further damage.
The following testing methods, among others, are available for damage analysis:
- Leak detection
- Optical microscopy
- Metallography
- Analysis of deposits and corrosion products
- Tests on the compatibility of materials with working fluids
