Areas of application

Buildings equipped with HVAC-systems for heating, cooling or air-conditioning such as office and administrative buildings, schools and universitys, industrial facilities and manufacturing plants

Objective

The complexity of modern HVAC-systems requires a systematic commissioning process, including the verification of operational performance and the fine-tuning of the systems during a building’s initial phase of use. Through parallel energy monitoring, energy losses can be identified and addressed to meet the planned high efficiency standards.

Description

Technical and energy monitoring, along with the systematic commissioning of HVAC-systems, form an integrated system to ensure energy efficiency, sustainability and operational safety in new built and existing buildings. This system bridges the gap between design specifications (target) and actual operation (goal). The key aspects of this process are defined as:

Technical monitoring (TMon) is a continuous comparison of target and actual operating data for HVAC-systems in buildings to optimize performance and ensure quality. It allows to identify defects or implausible system control, thereby improving energy efficiency. Commissioning management in accordance with VDI 6039, ensures that HVAC-systems in buildings are commissioned, adjusted and fine-tuned in a systematic and structured manner, thereby functioning in accordance with the contract.

Energy monitoring is the continuous, automated measurment and analysis of energy consumption data (electricity, gas, heat) in buildings or companies. It forms the basis for energy management systems (e.g., according to ISO 50001) to identify savings potential, reduce costs and ensure the energy efficiency of HVAC-systems.

Technical monitoring, commissioning management and energy monitoring have become essential tools for sustainable building quality management. ILK Dresden has already provided these services to various building owners. We would be happy to assist you as well during the commissioning of your building.
