Topics for Trainees

  1. For heat pump start-up in industry, the working materials must be analyzed thermodynamically and chemically. We are looking for people with an interest in physics or chemistry who would like to work with us to develop and test methods for investigating these properties.
  2. We require automated testing equipment to connect our measurement technology for the properties of natural high-temperature liquid“refrigerant”(s). With the appropriate expertise, your task will be to create measurement software for communication with measuring stations and measuring devices in our thermodynamics laboratory.
  3. Absorption refrigeration machines are a niche product for air conditioning applications in industry where waste heat is available free of charge. However, their field of application can be extended to industrial heat pumps. Your field of work includes researching substances, especially ionic liquids, which have a positive effect on the process.
  4. A deep understanding of the thermodynamics of liquid incongruent mixtures (= liquid-liquid mixtures with a high molar mass difference) offers the possibility of building innovative, energy-efficient machines for refrigeration, air conditioning, heating and energy technology. Unfortunately, the data for this knowledge gain is scattered across the internet. With the help of AI tools, we will work with you to find ways to catalogue and digitize it.

Possible work: Internship, bachelor's, master's, diploma thesis
