Philosophy

The ILK Dresden is a free and independent research and technology enterprise that orientates itself, economically independently, on the market and on the customers’ R&D demand.

Our strength lies in the wide range of our interdisciplinary research priorities, technology areas and fields of expertise and their mutual integration.

The scientific and technical fields of cryogenics and cryophysics, cryomedicine and cryobiology, refrigeration and refrigerating equipment, heat pump technology, heat and mass transfer, thermodynamics and refrigerants, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning including fluid
mechanics and acoustics, air pollution control, particle separation and the utilization of solar energy as well as applied energy engineering, water purification and material engineering, measurement and control technology represent the wide scope of interdisciplinary ILK technologies.

The ILK is a non-profit company and works on research projects regarding global issues, such as environmental protection, energy saving and energy efficiency as well as improved quality of living.

In line with the Dresden tradition in sciences, ILK’s long-standing experience and the dynamics of a new beginning in Saxony, we are creating innovation and we are making efforts for the economy and society.

Each member of the ILK staff seeks novel solutions and makes use of the potential of the entire institute.

Each single employee and everybody together represent the ILK as a whole; no-one is responsible for their job only.

The criteria of success of our research efforts consist in a well-founded scientific basis and sustainable profitability of our results.

Our clients’ demands and the required confidentiality are regarded by us as having the highest priority.

This holds also true for us: A path emerges by walking it.

We measure our work against international top-notch quality.

Cost-effective management is our working principle.
