The 14th Cryogenics 2017 is a joint Conference of IIR Commissions:
A1 (Cryophysics, Cryoengineering)
A2 (Liquefaction and Separation of Gases) C1 (Cryobiology, cryomedicine).
This conference took place as an IIR International Conference with Industrial Exhibition from 15 May to 19 May 2017 at the Dorint Hotel in Dresden. 164 participants from 24 countries participated this international meeting, which was carried jointly by the ILK Dresden. This special IIR event in Dresden was a complete success with very interesting lectures, posters and various discussions in the exhibition area and between the sessions. At least 58 lectures were held and 22 posters were presented. 17 companies took part at the industrial exhibition.
The eight scientific topics were:
- Cryogenics in Particle Physics
- Superconductivity
- Hydrogen & Helium & Rare Gases
- Cryocoolers & Cooling Cycles
- Thermodynamic Properties & Components
- Cryobiology & Cryotherapy
- Liquefied Natural Gas
- Air Separation & Cryogenic Energy Storage
The conference was characterized by a high scientific level and by numerous new challenges in the field of technology and physics at very low temperatures. The ILK Dresden was involved with 5 own contributions and an exhibition stand.
The 14th Cryogenics 2017 was completed by the traditional conference dinner in the Italian village on Thursday. On Friday, many participants joined the technical excursions to the Institut für Luft- und Kältetechnik gGmbH (ILK), Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf e. V. (HZDR) and Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research Dresden (IFW).
The 15th Cryogenics IIR Conference will be held in April 2019 in Prague.
