At the Institut für Luft- und Kältetechnik gemeinnützige Gesellschaft mbH, in the main department "Cryogenics and Low Temperature Physics", a job is available as
constructor (m/f)
Some of our scientific areas are the development of innovative cryogenic coolers, heat engines and special liquefying systems, as well as the construction of special cryogenic plants for industrial applications and (large) research facilities. Other research areas include the hydrogen and superconducting technology, e.g. in the automotive and energy sector, as well as the cryogenic energy storage with a view to a better use of renewable energies. We are looking for support for our reserach team, so to participate in the professional implementation and commercial exploitation of the above mentioned topics.
Your main activities:
- Self-responsible solution for complex design tasks and other scientific and technical tasks, with focus of the above mentioned topics
- Selection, procurement and time control of materials and components
- Quality monitoring of assembly and tests
- Acquisition and processing of industrial research projects and tasks
- Application and implementation of publicly funded research projects
- Conception, execution and evaluation of experimental work
- Documentation, presentation and marketing of research results
Your qualifications and other requirements:
- University degree in mechanical engineering, focus on construction
- Knowledge and professional experience in cryogenic engineering and cryogenic physics
- Several years of experience in design and project management
- Knowledge of thermodynamics and / or flow mechanics is desirable
- Experiences with experimental work and measurement techniques
- Secure English language skills and a willingness to travel in Germany and abroad
- High operational readiness, resilience and flexibility
- Own initiative, independent structured work, sense of responsibility
