First ice nucleation experiments at KIT

with the new cloud chamber AIDAd - cooling system from ILK!

4821

In cooperation with the department "Atmospheric Aerosol Research" of the Institute of Meteorology and Climate Research, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and Bilfinger Noell the ILK Dresden has constructed the new dynamic cloud chamber (called AIDAd) - with high dynamic cooling system. In this cooperation the ILK Dresden was responsible for the development and installation of the cooling system and the conditioning of the air supply. In August 2020, the KIT successfully took AIDAd into operation for its first series of heterogeneous and homogeneous ice nucleation experiments. For more details see the press release of KIT.
